Wuauclt doesn't do much anymore nowadays but in this context it does work if run right after deleting the SoftwareDistribution folder and checking for updates right after. OK, I wonder then whether I'll continue to see problems when the next patch Tuesday comes around. I did a registry snapshot and it does write a bunch of values when the button is clicked in my case but I have not tried dissecting that to see if there is a way to push some registry values to fix it and avoid having to manually click the button that one time. I've tried usoclient remotely, softwaredistribution, all the tricks but hitting that button fixes it for some reason. When I manually hit Check for Updates, it's hitting my WSUS server, not online but again, once I've done this, it rights the ship. Interesting, that's a little different than mine in that respect too then. Now that I've done that and rebooted, the message has changed to 'You're up to date'. I realised the one thing I didn't try after enabling the new 1903 category was get the machine to check for updates direct from Microsoft. I think you've pointed me in the right direction here. If I manually hit check for updates, it fixes it going forward but the wsus settings simply don’t work like they should after the feature update.ĮDIT: mine is different in the fact that the machines stop talking to wsus until I check for updates manually. Upgrading hardware is what I recommend.I have seen a similar issue myself.
